Booking, deposits, and your first visit

What to Expect

Everything you need to know before you book — including the things most practices only tell you after you have handed over your details.

Step one

Booking

Book online through our scheduling system, or call or text 609-846-5115. We see patients at Cape May Court House (Thursday and Friday 10am–6pm, Saturday 10am–4pm) and Gibbsboro (Monday to Wednesday 10am–6pm).

A consultation is available for every treatment and required for some. For neurotoxin and most filler treatments, a consultation is not required as a separate visit — treatment can follow the same day. For the physician-only procedures (O-Shot®, P-Shot®, Vampire Breast Lift®, under-eye filler) and for ThickRx, a consultation comes first and treatment is scheduled separately.

The $100 consultation deposit

Consultations are booked with a $100 deposit. It is credited in full toward your treatment when you proceed, and it is refunded in full if you cancel with at least 24 hours’ notice. It is not an extra fee — it is simply the first $100 of your treatment, paid up front so that a reserved appointment is a real one. If you decide after the consultation that treatment is not for you, the deposit is applied to the consultation itself.

Cancellations and late arrivals

A valid credit card is kept on file to hold your appointment. We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule, including complimentary appointments. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we may not be able to see you, because it pushes back every patient after you. Same-day cancellations and no-shows forfeit the deposit.

Step two

Your First Visit

What to bring

Photo ID
A list of your current medications and supplements, including anything you take for bleeding or blood thinning, and any recent antibiotics or steroids
Your allergies, and any history of cold sores (relevant to lip treatment)
Details of any previous aesthetic treatment — what, where, when, and by whom — especially permanent or semi-permanent filler

Your consultation

Your provider takes your history, discusses your goals and what is realistic, and explains the risks specific to your treatment. The physician-only procedures are always assessed by Dr. Francis personally. You will sign a procedure-specific consent that names the product, the areas, the risks, whether the use is off-label, and the person who will treat you.

Before an injectable treatment

For 24–48 hours before, avoid alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen and other NSAIDs, fish oil, vitamin E, and similar supplements unless prescribed — they increase bruising. Never stop a prescribed blood thinner without your prescribing physician’s instruction; tell us instead.
Eat before you come. Fainting during injections is far more likely on an empty stomach.
Arrive with clean skin and no makeup in the treatment area.
Tell us if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or trying to conceive, if you are unwell, or if you have an active skin infection or cold sore anywhere near the treatment area. We will reschedule rather than treat.
Tell us if you have a dental procedure, vaccination, or major event in the next two weeks.

Step three

Aftercare

You will leave with printed aftercare instructions and written return precautions for your specific treatment. The general rules are below; your provider’s written instructions take precedence.

Neurotoxin

Stay upright for four hours; do not lie down, bend over, or nap.
Do not rub, massage, or apply pressure to the treated areas for 24 hours. No facials, no hats or headbands that press on the area.
Skip strenuous exercise, saunas, and alcohol for 24 hours.
Full effect takes up to 14 days. Book your two-week follow-up if you are a new patient.

Dermal filler

Expect swelling, tenderness, and possibly bruising for several days; lips swell the most. Ice gently in the first 24 hours.
Avoid heat, alcohol, and strenuous exercise for 24–48 hours, and avoid pressure or massage on the area unless we have told you to massage.
No dental work for two weeks before or after filler.
Call immediately for sudden or increasing pain, blanching or a dusky or mottled colour change, skin that looks lacy or purple, or any change in vision. Vision change: call 911.

PRP treatments

Mild redness, swelling, and tenderness are expected for one to three days.
Avoid anti-inflammatory medication (ibuprofen, naproxen, aspirin) for 48 hours after — it works against the platelets. Acetaminophen is fine.
No strenuous exercise, saunas, or swimming for 24 hours. For intimate-wellness procedures, follow Dr. Francis’s individual guidance on sexual activity, typically a few days.
Watch for increasing pain, spreading redness, warmth, or fever, and call the same day if they occur.

Laser and energy-based treatments

Cool compresses for redness; no hot showers, saunas, or exercise for 24 hours.
Strict sun protection for two weeks — SPF 30 or higher, every day.
Blistering, whitening, or pain out of proportion to the treatment is not normal: call the same day.
